Grandma's Cookbook is a local-first family recipe keeper for iPhone and iPad. Scan old recipe pages, preserve the original handwriting or clipping, turn each page into a structured recipe card, and cook from it with practical kitchen tools.
It is built for church binders, handwritten cards, flour-dusted notebooks, newspaper clippings, and family margin notes that deserve more than a photo album.
What you can do:
- Scan recipe pages into a named family cookbook volume, or import photos you already took - Turn a scanned page into a structured recipe with ingredients and steps while keeping the original image beside it - Use the Prep Plan to see a readiness score, active time, passive time, make-ahead notes, timed steps, shopping needs, and watch points before cooking - Scale servings up or down and convert cups, tablespoons, grams, ounces, oven temperatures, and common kitchen measures offline - Start Cook Mode for a big-text step-by-step cooking view with timers parsed from the directions - Browse a global Recipe Index organized by category - Build an aisle-grouped shopping list from one recipe or multiple recipes at once - Mark shopping items as already on hand so your buy list stays clean - Log every cooking attempt in the Cook Journal with date, rating, and notes - Export a typeset Keepsake Book PDF with a cover, table of contents, and recipe pages - Correct recognized text when handwriting, smudges, or faded ink need a human pass - Add tags, family notes, and memories to every page - Search across recipe names, ingredients, corrected text, OCR text, and notes
On-device text recognition reads printed and clear handwriting. You can edit anything it misses, and the original photo is always preserved.

Grandma's Cookbook keeps everything on the device. There is no account, no analytics, no ads, and no vendor cloud recipe locker.
